Maker DrNezbit was testing 3D printing some QR codes, by importing a greyscale image into Cura and adding a layer change at the appropriate height.
Once he had that working, he realized that the bottom of the QR codes were a flat surface. If he were to flip them over, firmly attach them to the print bed, and set a matching Z-offset, he should be able to 3D print directly on the back of these existing prints.
While this specific example is admittedly a limited use-case, it does open up a lot of possibility for multi-directional prints!
